This was an extensive renovation to a very old style house in Welgedacht Estate in Durbanville.
The property was purchased by two medical professionals who fell in love with the position and the lifestyle that was on offer. There were many challenges to the project, particularly from an engineering point of view as the existing house was poorly built.
The end result however, was a show piece that the clients were very proud of.
The clients had owned this property on the slopes of Signal Hill for a while and this too was a renovation that needed a lot of structural engineering, particularly as we needed to excavate into the side of the mountain in order to accommodate the lift.
The interior decorator was Kyle Roux and he was involved in the project from an early stage.
The clients lived in JHB and bought a plot in Waters Edge, a security estate in Big Bay with the idea of relocating to Cape Town.
The property is positioned in the front row of this estate and therefore commands breath taking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain.
